Prime Minister addresses the 3rd meeting of National Committee on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 3rd National Committee meeting on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 6th August 2022. The meeting was held through a hybrid mode where various members of the National Committee including Lok Sabha speakers, Governors, Union Ministers, political leaders, media personalities, etc. attended physically as well as virtually. The first National Committee meeting was held on 8th March 2021 before the launch of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the second meeting was organized on 22nd December 2021.

Secretary Culture, Shri Govind Mohan, highlighted the achievements and activities of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav since its inception through a presentation. Addressing the audience, the Prime Minister accorded the success of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to the contribution of every citizen. He added that National, State, and District committees have worked hard to take the campaign to the people.

The Prime Minister emphasized the emotional fervor of the Mahotsav and the need to imbibe this feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the youth and channel it for nation building. He further added that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav provides a golden opportunity for the youth to establish an emotional connection with the nation.

The Prime Minister further said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is like a Sanskar Utsav for the youth. He said that it is this generation that will be the future leaders of our country and hence it is important to inculcate in them the responsibility to fulfill the dreams and vision of India. In addition to this, he commended the technological revolution that has enabled the tremendous speed of change. It is therefore important to build the capacity of the youth and to equip them with the necessary skills to meet the technological challenges of times to come.

The Prime Minister emphasized building local tribal museums to pay tribute to tribal freedom fighters. He suggested that the border village program should be taken up for the youth to familiarize them with the life of the people residing in those parts of the country. He also mentioned the need for grassroots-level programs such as the construction of 75 sarovars in every district, which can contribute to environment conservation.

The Prime Minister concluded the meeting by emphasizing upon Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and that we must nurture our unity. Regarding this, he talked about the Indian National Flag and how it is a symbol of unity, positivity, and prosperity. He also said that we are in the period of Amrit Kaal, marked by the spirit of Sankalp Se Siddhi, which will take our country to the peak of success over the next 25 years.
