PM Narendra Modi addresses Sanatan Mandir Cultural Center, Ontario, Canada

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Sanatan Mandir Cultural Center (SMCC) situated in Ontario, Canada on the occasion of Sardar Patel’s statue inauguration on 1st May 2022 (virtually).
The PM said the inauguration of the statue of Sardar Patel on the premises of Sanatan Mandir will not only act as a symbol of the relationship between the two countries but will also be a boost to cultural exchange. The PM also acknowledged that while many may live away from their country for years but the love and loyalty they have for their home country never fades. He also added that “India is not only a nation but also an idea, it is also a culture. India is that higher level of thought- that talks of 'VasudhaivKutumbakam'. India does not dream of its own upliftment at the cost of the detriment of others.”
The PM also acknowledged the efforts of the Sanatan Cultural center and the significance of celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in Canada. He added that this celebration will give a unique opportunity to the people of Canada to understand India and its culture closely.
Talking about the freedom struggle faced by our freedom fighters, he expressed his gratitude to Sanatan Mandir for inaugurating the statue of Sardar Patel which exhibits a glimpse of a broader picture of India 2.0. He added that the replica of the Statue of Unity in Sanatan Mandir Cultural Center showcases that India’s Amrit is not limited to its boundaries, it connects people and cultures all over the world.
In concluding his speech, PM Modi praised the efforts of the Indian diaspora for showcasing India’s efforts on a global scale and taking the message of Atmanirbhar Bharat to new heights.
