As part of the activities to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Consulate General of India, Jaffna along with the Provincial Department of Indigenous Medicine, Northern Province jointly organized the second Siddha Medical Camp at Bharathipuram Maha Vidyalayam, Kilinochchi today (19th December 2021) under the banner of ‘Siddha for all” campaign. The inauguration ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by Mr. Raakesh Natraj, Hon’ble Consul General, Mrs. R. Ketheesawaran, District Secretary, Kilinochchi, Dr. (Mrs.) K. Jebanamaganeshan, Commissioner, & Dr. Sathiyaseelan, Deputy Commissioner, Provincial Department of Indigenous Medicine, Northern Province, Mr. Amalarasa, Assistant Director of Planning, Karachchi Division, Kilinochchi along with Community Medical Officers & Siddha doctors.
The medical camp attracted an overwhelming response. 234 patients from all age categories including the beneficiaries of Indian Housing Projects in Sri Lanka visited the camp and received free medical advice, free health checkups, and free Siddha medicines for their ailments.
