As part of Amrit Mahotsav, and to commemorate the First War of Independence of 1857, the Embassy organized a special screening of the movie Manikarnika, a movie celebrating the patriotism & bravery of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. The screening saw enthusiastic participation by the Indian community and Lebanese friends of India. Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan welcomed the guests and recalled the important events of 1857. He also thanked Zee Studios who supported the screening of the Movie. Ambassador also announced that the Embassy will organize monthly Movie Evenings for Bollywood lovers in Lebanon.
