Pledge Against Drugs in Different Schools of South Tripura District

When certain drugs are taken in repeatedly and excessively they cause serious harmful mental and physical reactions in the body resulting in drug addiction. Drug abuse is not only self-damaging but also cutting the root of the nation when energetic youth section get involved in drug addiction. Once addicted it becomes hard for the addicts to get rid of the addiction and those whoc do lose important part of their life as well as causing health issues and family problems.

To prevent spreading this damaging demon among the youth who are the future of the nation, Pledge Against Drugs was conducted at different schools under South Tripura district on 12th August 2022 as part of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in coordination with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, Government of Tripura. District Inspector of School Education (DISE) has communicated earlier explaining the importance of the campaign and has been promoting the concept of "Student Activity Club" to popularize the slogan "Say No to Drugs"in all schools and colleges.

Over 1000 students, over 400 teachers and non-teaching staff from 40 schools in South Tripura District took part in the pledge to make not only their community, family, friends but themselves drug free because change starts from within and take stand against drug abuse under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. All of them pledged to take all efforts in their capabilities to make India drug addiction-free nation.
