Surinderpal Kaur Hira, Principal the students participated in various activities such as speech, poems. S. Lakhvir Singh and Smt. Romi Sharma also gave their views. Quit India Movement Day: The Quit India Movement played a very significant role in India's struggle for freedom from British rule. It was on August 8, 1942, when the Quit India Movement or Bharat Chhodo Andolan was launched by Mahatma Gandhi. It is also called the August Kranti or August Movement. Launched by Mahatma Gandhi on August 8, 1942, the Quit India Movement precipitated the exit of the British. The movement was launched at the Bombay session of the All-India Congress Committee and featured Gandhi's clarion call to end British Rule.
