Department of Industries, Bihar Celebrates National Handloom Day. The program was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister, Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar. Several steps have been taken by the State Government to promote the handloom industry and to improve the economic condition of the weavers. CM Nitish Kumar announced a new integrated weavers development of the weavers working in different districts of the state as well as all the people associated with the handloom sector. Under the “Satrangi Chadar Yojna” handloom bed sheets is being used in hospitals and medical colleges of Bihar.Electricity subsidy is being given on the electricity consumed by them. Assistance was also given by the state government to promote the production of mulberry silk. The farmers have been given the benefit of Tasar Vikas Yojana for production of Tasar silk.
