Birsa Munda was born on 15th November 1875 and died on 9th June 1900. He was an Indian tribal freedom fighter, religious leader, and folk hero who belonged to the Munda tribe. His portrait is displayed in the Indian Parliament Museum. He is the only tribal leader to have been so honored. Sh. Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has given a message and announced the 'Adhivasi Gaurav Diwas' has to be celebrated every year on the birth anniversary of Bhagavan Birsa Munda.
