As part of celebrations for India@75 and India-Japan@70, the Embassy of India, Tokyo, and Startup India (Invest India) jointly organized the ‘Third Session of the series of Virtual Pitching by Indian Startups’ on July 14, 2022. In his opening remarks, Mr. Mayank Joshi, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Tokyo mentioned the Indian Government’s initiatives and comprehensive policy framework for supporting India’s Start-up ecosystem and innovation, India-Japan Digital Partnership, and the role of collaboration in Startups can play. Mr. Takuma Otaki, Director, JETRO made a special address during the event. Mr. Mamoru Katahira, Specialist of International Information, Japan Patent Office made a presentation on India-Japan Patent Prosecution Highway. 8 Indian startups in Environment Sector pitched their technological offerings before the Japanese stakeholders. The event was well received by representatives of Japanese corporations and Venture Capital firms. Indian startups offer tremendous opportunities that can be leveraged by Japanese companies.
