‘Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti’ celebrated Internationally under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Paramaribo, Suriname

To mark 75 years of India’s independence, in association with AlphaMax Academy, Paramaribo, Suriname Mission celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Bengal’s greatest poet, songwriter, and philosopher, Rabindranath Tagore on May 09, 2022. The program included Garlanding Tagore’s bust which was presented to the AlphaMax Academy by ICCR in 2011, distribution of books on Tagore to school children, and patriotic compositions that inspired Indian freedom fighters in Bengal and throughout India. The event marks the 160th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore

Indian Embassy, Beirut, Lebanon

The Embassy of India in Beirut organized “Rabindra Sandhya” on May 09, 2022, at the Embassy premises for the celebration of the Birth Anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM). The event started with the garlanding of a photo of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. A short video showcasing the life of Gurudev Tagore and his various contributions in the fields of literature, stories, poems, drama, novels, music, drawings, paintings, and education of India, was also screened on this occasion.

Dhaka, Bangladesh

As part of the TagoreJayanti celebrations, IGCC organized events in the month of May which included a tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore through poetry recitations and renditions of songs.

'Rabindra Sangeet Sandhya' included performances by IGCC students and renowned Rabindra Sangeet singers of Bangladesh.

On 10th May, IGCC organized Rabindra Sangeet Sandhya at ICC, Gulshan-II.

On 19th May, IGCC organized a Cultural event at Shilpakala Academy, Dhaka on Rabindra Sangeet by Ms. Lily Islam, a renowned Rabindra Sangeet singer.

As part of the ICCR Day celebration, IGCC, Dhaka is also exploring organizing a segment to highlight the contribution of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in the composition National Anthem of Bangladesh.”
