Theme: Indian culture, cuisine and cinema

Events:

• Exhibition “India Fest 21” from 12-27 August 2021 at Zvonimir Gallery, Bauerova 33, Zagreb. Ambassador will officially open the exhibition on 12th August 2021 with presence of about 50 guests.
• Independence Day Flag Hoisting ceremony and cultural program on 15th August 2021 at the Chancery with the participation of around 60 people from the Indian community, friends of India and the Embassy officials.
• Projection of tricolor of Indian National Flag on the prestigious Mestrovic Pavilion in Zagreb on the eve of, as well as, on the 75th Independence Day of India.
• National Day Reception to celebrate Independence Day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav hosted by Ambassador on 17th August 2021 with the presence of 100 guests (limit imposed due to pandemic measures) including Foreign Minister of Croatia as Guest of Honour, former President of Croatia, Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament and the very prominent Forensic Expert as well as important public figure Dragan Primorac.
• The Embassy organized participation of India as a partner country in the “Cest is D’ Best” street festival of Zagreb from 20-22 August 2021 with 3Cs of India: culture, cuisine and cinema.

Special features:

• India Fest 21: Well-known Indian poetess, journalist and columnist, and occasionally painter, wrote the poem Croatia on the occasion of the exhibition, and poetic comments on paintings of Croatian geographical locations (Rovinj, Pula, Varaždin, Rijeka, Zagreb, Osijek, Vukovar, Karlovac, Zadar, Sibenik, Split, Korcula, Supetar and Dubrovnik), and the internationally known and award-winning Croatian haiku poet Goran Gatalica, wrote Haiku comments on digital images inspired by Indian destinations (Bhopal, Bhubanesewar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Ganges, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Khana Shanti Vanam, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pondicherry, Srinagar and Surat).
• Tricolor projection: Projection of tricolor of Indian National Flag on the prestigious Mestrovic Pavilion in Zagreb on the eve of, as well as, on the 75th Independence Day of India.
• Foreign Minister of Croatia first time attending as the Guest of Honour at the National Day Reception to celebrate Independence Day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
