Under the program of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Swachhata Hi Seva program was conducted in Theed in connection with Meri Maati, Mera Desh. The event was hosted by the Rural Development Department. The Chief guest for the event was: the BDC Vice-chairman. In addition to him, the Officials of the Block, the Panchayat Secretary, Sarpanch, etc participated in the event. The program that was hosted by the Block consisted of taking out a Swachhata Rally on the outskirts of the Panchayat Halqa. The participants jointly held the banner regarding the topic of the event. The main aim of organizing the event in the Panchayat Halqa was the awareness of cleanliness ethics in the rural intimates
The participants then addressed the locals about the pros of being neat and clean to make society prosperous and healthy. The Chief guest said that when India is celebrating the 75th year of Independence, the component of cleanliness is of great importance for the overall development of the nation and was dreamed of by the great freedom fighter – Mahatma Gandhi from pre-independence. The rally cumulated further near the Panchayat Office, Theed and vote of thanks. The event witnessed an attendance of more than 16 people.
