About JIGYASA: AKAM Quiz
As India celebrates 75 years of independence, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched the Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Taking his grand vision forward, the Indian Oil Corporation in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and the Ministry of Culture is launching Jigyasa: The AKAM Quiz. “Jigyasa” is a step towards creating awareness and taking forward the Parampara of Gyan through technology, innovation, and inclusive learning.
Jigyasa, the largest ever quiz organized by India, drinks from the fountain of India’s civilization history; however, true to the evolutionary nature of Bharatiyata, it is hosted on state-of-the-art technology, supported by artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Features of Jigyasa
One of the key motivations of Jigyasa is derived from PM Narendra Modi’s commitment to Antyodaya. Jigyasa is truly inclusive in nature.
- Global: Anyone from any part of the world can participate in Jigyasa: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Quiz
- Divyang Jan: Special provisions are available for Divyang Jan
- Informal Education: Those who are in the age group of 13-18 and not a part of the formal education system are also eligible to participate in Jigyasa.
- Multilingual: Jigyasa can be played in 17 languages
- With an expected reach of 2 crore young adults, Jigyasa promises to kickstart a conversation on the idea and ideals of Bharatiyata across 742 districts of India, that is Bharat.
- Age: 13 - 18 years:
- For those in the age group of 13-18 years of age, Jigyasa offers them the opportunity to qualify as district winners who subsequently go to State, Regional and National levels.
- A number of participants qualifying for each round will be linked to the base participation from that unit (District, State, or Region, as the case may be).
- One Team (size:2) of Divyang Jan and International participants will qualify for the Grand Finale
- All teams qualifying for the Grand Finale will be eligible for scholarships.
- Winners (2) are eligible for a scholarship of Rs. 10 lakh each.
- Online and Offline
- The pre-qualifier and district round will be online
- The State round will be played in digital quiz rooms
- Regional and Final rounds will be conducted offline at 4 metros and New Delhi, respectively.
- Others:
- A game of 5 questions can be played every day using the “Play Along” feature.
- Players can maintain their streaks based on continuous participation
