He had Started many Types of Satyagraha in our country. Therefore, we called is Father of Nation to Mahatma Gandhi. On January 30, 1948, Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse, a Hindu nationalist, while he was on his way to a prayer meeting in New Delhi. In memory of Gandhi's sacrifice and to honour his legacy, the Indian government declared January 30 as Martyrs' Day. On January 30, Martyr's Day, or Shaheed Diwas, is celebrated in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, and on March 23, (Martyr's Day or Shaheed Diwas), is observed to pay tribute to three extraordinary revolutionaries of India who were hanged to death by the British, namely Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar
