Armed Forces Flag Day at SPSR Nellore District, Andhra Pradhesh

Andhra Pradesh

December 07, 2022

Flag day is mainly observed to serve three basic purposes that aka the rehabilitation of battle casualties, the welfare of serving personnel and their families, and resettlement and welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.  It is a time for Indians to express their gratitude and appreciation to the current and veteran military personnel of India and to acknowledge those who died in service to the country.

"We are observing today, the 07th December, as Armed Forces Flag Day.  Our Armed Forces have made the Nation proud and set standards of discipline, duty valour skill and self-sacrifice which are respected the world over.  A Nation sleeps in peace when its soldiers are vigilant, determined to make the supreme sacrifice to defend their sacred trust.  We owe them a debt of gratitude.

The Armed Foces Flag Day reminds us of the sacrifies and martyrdom of those men in the service of our nation and our duty towards them.

We should contribute generously to the noble cause of demobilized soldiers, ex-servicemen and war widows.  This is the least that we can do to repay on abiding debt."

- Sri KVN Chakradhar Babu IAS, Collector and District Magistrate & Chairman, Zilla Sainik Board of SPS Nellore.
