Hon’ble PM virtually kickstarts program of state-wide distribution of Ayushman card

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually launched the campaign to provide 50 lakh Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojanaa cards to the citizens in Gujarat. Virtually joined Prime Minister Shri NarendraModi also interacted directly with some of the beneficiaries of Gujarat at the state level function held at the Medical Hall in the Civil Hospital complex in Gandhinagar. Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel handed over PVC cards to some beneficiaries.
  • PMJAY-MA card is like gold that would help families at times of emergency. Any needy family will go and stand at the door of any hospital during emergency PMJAY-MA will prove to be beneficial. Speaking in the current terminology, the Prime Minister said that, in a way, this is a five lakh ATM card. It is necessary that the needy people of the society take advantage of this scheme more and more. He said that Ayushman Card is the biggest savior of the family, a crisis reliever. Four crore people in India are benefiting from this scheme and about 50 lakh people in Gujarat have got relief through this scheme. The Government of India has made an arrangement that citizens of any state can get treatment with the PMJAY-Jan Arogya card not only in Gujarat, but in any hospital of any state. The government has also planned that all the members of the family get the benefit of this scheme.
  • PM said ‘Sarve Santu Niramaya’ May everyone be disease free. The state government and the government of India together are providing a massive security cover. We have heard talks about health insurance in progressive and prosperous countries of the world, India has taken a step forward. We have not dreamed just for health insurance, but have dreamed for assurance and it is coming true. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya MA Yojana of India is a topic of discussion all over the world. Gujarat government has taken up the work to handover these cards to the needy people on the day of Diwali.
  • Arogya Mahamahotsav is being celebrated in Gujarat during the festive days of Diwali-Dhanteras. He noted the coincidence that Dhanteras is at hand and Lord Dhanvantari who is considered to be the originator of Ayurveda is worshipped on the occasion. Quoting the Shastras, the Prime Minister recited, “Arogyam Paramam Bhagyaam” and expressed happiness that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, an event of such massive scale was taking place to give Arogya Dhan to lakhs of people of Gujarat. Gujarat government has undertaken a great campaign to distribute PMJ AY-ma cards to the needy people. This is a campaign to reach two lakh people in Gujarat to provide PVC cards of Pradhan Mantri Janarogya Yojana by today evening. 50 lakh PVC cards will be handed over in coming days.
  • Recalling many public welfare schemes like Chiranjeevi Yojana, Balbhog Yojana, Khilakhilat Yojana, Balmitra Yojana during his tenure as Chief Minister in Gujarat, he said that these schemes have brought great changes in the lives of citizens. He thanked the Gujarat government for many such schemes.
  • Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that only a person coming from poor family or facing illness, The then Chief Minister of the state and sensitive Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi felt that pain. As a result of which the seeds of the scheme were planted in the state in the year 2012.
  • Through this scheme, many families got a security cover against expensive health treatments. More and more poor people were benefited from this scheme. In the year 2014, the scheme was also extended to the middle class families in the Ma scheme & Ma Vatsalya Yojana.
  • As a result of Double engine government, about 2700 health services are being provided free of cost to citizens in 3000 hospitals in Gujarat. Through PMJAY-MA scheme treatment upto Rs. 5 lakh is provided free of cost.
  • Prime Minister has gifted a total of around 1300 crore health-security projects including Ahmedabad-Medicity, 188 Dialysis Centers and 22 Chemotherapy Centers to strengthen Gujarat’s health infrastructure. Gujarat is the leader in carrying out the world’s largest vaccination campaign during the Corona period.
  • PMJAY card is a health cover for poor-medium families, Gujarat Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Rushikesh Bhai Patel said that, Today, distribution of this card has been started from more than 360 locations across the state. 50 lakh cards will be distributed.
  • When Prime Minister was Chief minister of Gujarat he implemented the Ma Card scheme to provide health treatment to the poor-Antyodaya family against serious illnesses. In a decade, 46 lakh people have benefited from health cover for minor and major ailments. The government has paid 8 thousand crores. Private hospitals are also covered for treatment through this card. 1.58 lakh crore beneficiaries have been issued PMJAY cards in the state. More than 50 lakh cards have been issued in the last one year. Now, these beneficiaries will be given new printed Ayushman PVC cards.
  • Education Minister Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, Finance Minister Shri Kanubhai Desai, Mayor of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation Shri Hitesh Makwana, District Panchayat President Mr. Dilipbhai Patel, MLA of Gandhinagar  Shri Shambhuji Thakor, Chief Secretary Shri Pankajkumar, Additional Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Manoj Aggarwal, Health Commissioner Ms. Shahmeena Hussain, Director of National Health Mission Mrs. Remya Mohan, Municipal Commissioner of Gandhinagar Shri. Sandeep Sangle, District Collector Ms. Praveena.D.K., District Development Officer and other invited dignitaries and beneficiaries were present on the occasion .
