PM dedicates and lays foundation of devt. works including Gujarat’s first bulk drug park in Bharuch

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated and laid foundation stone of developmental works worth more than Rs. 8200 crore including stone laying of State’s first bulk drug park at Amod in Bharuch District.
  • The Prime Minister laid the foundation stones of state’s first fully equipped bulk drug park to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2506 crores at Jambusar,  Deep-sea pipeline project to be constructed at a cost of Rs.568 crores in Dahej, Multilevel industrial sheds to be constructed at Ankleshwar and Panoli at a cost of Rs. 30 crores and works of Ankleshwar Airport Phase-1 operation at a cost of Rs. 100 crores. Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi dedicated various expansion plants of Gujarat Alkalis and Chemicals, a public enterprise of Gujarat Government, worth Rs. 4105 crores to the nation. These various plants of GACL will help the nation move in the direction of “Self-reliant India” while saving the country valuable foreign exchange. Along with this, GACL-NALCO Alkalis and Chemicals Pvt Ltd (GNAL), a joint venture with National Aluminum Company Limited (NALCO), was also dedicated to the nation.
  • Prime Minister performed the ground breaking of the Agro Food Park to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 70.87 crores in Mudetha of Banaskantha district, Four Tribal Industrial Parks to be constructed at a cost of Rs 127.58 crore at Valia in Bharuch district, Vanar in Chhota Udepur, Chakaliya in Dahod and Amirgadh in Banaskantha, C-Food Park at Kakwadi- Danti in Valsad District at a cost of Rs. 89.98 crore as well the MSME Park to be established at a cost of 176.94 crores at Khandivav in Mahisagar district.
  • The Prime Minister specially mentioned the important role of Bharuch in the development of Gujarat and the country.
  • In this context PM said that, Bharuch district, once known for salted peanuts, has now gained global recognition for its industries, ports, business industries. Great personalities like Kanaiyalal Munshi, Pandit Omkarnath Shastri have made Gujarat proud along with Bharuch. He added that the development of Bharuch and Ankleshwar, which are at the forefront of industrial progress, is being done on the twin city model.
  • Elaborating on his three days visit for dedication and laying foundation stone of various developmental works PM said that, as a result of the double engine government of Narendra and Bhupendra, development works in the state are completed on a large scale and at a rapid pace.
  • Two decades ago the identity of the state was a trading state, instead today Gujarat is bustling with agriculture, industries, coastal line, ports, maritime trade, and in two decades Gujarat has witnessed a qualitative change with overall development.
  • The Prime Minister also mentioned that Gujarat accounts for 25 percent of the country’s total pharmaceutical industry, which is a proud achievement for the state. The Prime Minister also applauded the fact that Gujarat, a leader in drug production, has rendered a great service to the country through these drugs-vaccines during the Corona period.
  • In 2014, India’s economy was ranked 10th in the world, today it has reached the fifth position overtaking England. A country that ruled India for 250 years is left behind today. Shri Narendrabhai Modi clearly said that the credit of making such a strong economy goes to all the small and big entrepreneurs of the country.
  • Both policy and intention (Niti and Niyat) are needed for realizing these dreams added PM. He talked about the improved law and order situation in the Bharuch area. He also remembered how agriculture, health and drinking water situations improved over the years. He recalled how, as Chief Minister, he grappled with one issue at a time and solved them. “Today, children do not know the word, curfew, which was common earlier. Today, our daughters are not only living with dignity and working late but also, leading the lives of the communities”, he said. Similarly, education facilities have come up in Bharuch, giving new opportunities to the youth. Due to long-term planning and leveraging of under-utilized resources, Gujarat has emerged as a manufacturing, industrial and business hub and many world-class facilities have emerged here. The Double-Engine Government has become a great example of double benefits, the Prime Minister pointed out.
  • The Prime Minister pointed out the obstructions created by urban naxals during the development of Sardar Sarovar Dam. The Prime Minister heaped praises on the tribal communities of Gujarat who did not let naxals pervade the state of Gujarat and saved the lives of the people of the state. The Prime Minister cautioned against letting urban-naxal get any foothold in the state. He said, without ensuring good education in science and ematics, it is not possible to get proper advantage of affirmative action and other schemes, due to government efforts. Today, tribal youth are getting pilot training and becoming doctors, scientists and lawyers.
  • The Prime Minister reiterated his call for vocal-for-local. By resorting to local products and shunning imported products, every citizen can contribute to Aatmnirbhar Bharat, he said. He appealed for using locally made things during Diwali as they will help the local businesses and artisans.
  • In the begging of his address Prime Minister paid tribute to late Mulayam Singh Yadav, founder of Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of UP, and said that his sad demise has caused an irreparable loss to the country.
  • On this occasion Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that the Bulk Drug Park to be constructed in Bharuch district at the cost of Rs. 2506 crore will be an industrial park spread over an area of over 2000 acres which will be equipped with world-class facilities, for which the state government has decided to provide assistance of worth Rs 450 crore for this park.  As a result land will be allotted at a very low cost to the Bulk Drug industrialists  which will beneficial for them in initial investment.
  • In this regard, he further said that, Gujarat is a major contributor in producing drugs and their raw materials and also in export of drugs. The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor will also benefit from this Bulk Drug Park.
  • Chief Minister said that,When the developed and developing countries of the world were struggling to survive against the COVID-19 pandemic.India under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has developed an indigenous vaccine and helped many countries around the world and saved them from the pandemic.
  • The sole aim behind establishing such a mega Bulk Drug Park is to make the country self-reliant in drug-manufacturing so that the nation can combat if any such situation arises again in future.
  • An assistance of Rs 1000 crore per park to be provided by the central government which is an exceptional decision taken by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in favour of  drug manufacturing industries so that all the essential facilities are accessible to them  at one place and for  lower  rates. To realize the aim of  self-reliant Gujarat to self-reliant India the  government of Gujarat has also announced concessional rates for Bulk Drug Park pertaining to various services like water, electricity, state taxes etc.
  • The Chief Minister said that Gujarat has achieved inclusive development under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by adopting a three-tier approach of infrastructural, industrial and social. Following the Vibrant Summit, Gujarat has become the most preferred ‘Investment Destination’ for foreign investors.
  • Following the path indicated by the Prime Minister, the State Government has announced ‘Aatmanirbhar  Gujarat Schemes for Assistance to Industries’. This scheme will enable industries to compete globally and provide Rs. 12.50 lakh crore investment and employment to 15 lakh people.
  • To carry out the  aim of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of making India’s Amrit Kaal into Golden era Today’s day will be written down in  golden letters in the history of Gujarat’s overall development.
  • On this occasion, the Union Minister of Health, Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri Mansukh Mandaviya said, through Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar Prime Minister has given a huge gift to Gujarat. Minister also further added saying that government’s commitment to make Gujarat a pharmaceutical hub is being perceived.
  • Elaborating  on the benefits of this mega project, Shri Mandaviya said, This project will provide employment opportunities for the local youth on a large scale.  Transport, raw materials for medicine, pharma related industries including housing, education, professional, socio-economic activities will be boosted in the surrounding areas. He said that this project will provide new opportunities for development and economic progress to the pharma industry units including young entrepreneurs and also expressed confidence that the pace of development in various fields will be accelerated thoruhg various developmental projects dedicated worth Rs. 8200 crore.
  • On this occasion, State Party Pesident Shri C.R. Patil, Finance Minister Shri Kanu Desai, Minister of Transport Shri Purnesh Modi, Cooperation and Minister of State for Cottage Industries Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Mukesh Patel, Deputy Chief Whip of Legislative Assembly Shri Dushyant Patel, MP Shri Mansukh Vasava, District Panchayat President Smt. Alpa Patel, Administrative Manager of GIDC Shri M. Thennarasan, District Collector Shri Tushar Sumera, District Superintendent of Police Dr. Leena Patil and other officials of the district administration were present.
