While addressing the state level celebration of ‘Vishwas thi Vikas Yatra’ at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar in the virtual presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel emphasized that the 20 years of development of Gujarat and the uninterrupted faith of Gujaratis on the government for 20 years is purely due to the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. As a result of the strong foundation of development laid under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Gujarat has become a role model for development.
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah took part from Delhi and virtually laid foundation stone of and inaugurateda total of 519 public welfare development works worth Rs. 1179 crores. So, inauguration of 209 developmental projects worth Rs. 394 crores and ground breaking of 310 developmental projects worth Rs. 785 crores of panchayats, general administration, village development, ports and transport, energy and petrochemicals, water resources, education, social justice and governance, water supply, urban development and housing and road and building department was done.
He thanked Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and the Gujarat government for undertaking about 170 development works at a cost of Rs. 346 crores in Gandhinagar constituency.Further, elaborating about Gujarat’s achievements in last one year, Shri Amit Shah said that Gujarat stood first in NITI Aayog’s Har Ghar Jal, PM-JAY and Gramin Vikas Index in the last one year. Gujarat ranked first in Global Sustainability Index on health and industry front, while it ranked first in energy-climate in 2021 and 2022. Gujarat ranks first 30 percent share in India’s total exports. Gujarat has grown at a growth rate of 8.2 percent in the last 10 years. The Bhupendra Patel government of Gujarat has succeeded in maintaining this growth rate in the last one year even while the world had not yet emerged from the corona epidemic. 31.3 lakh crore foreign investment has come into the country in the last 8 years, of which 57 percent i.e. 17.7 lakh crore foreign investment has come for Gujarat alone.
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said that Gujarat today signed an MoU worth approximately Rs 1.40 lakh crore in the semiconductor manufacturing sector, which will provide employment to more than 1 lakh youth. In Gujarat today, more than 98 percent households have tap water, of which 123 talukas of 12 districts and 14,477 villages have tap water in 100 percent households under Nal Se Jal Yojana.
Further, while congratulating the Chief Minister and Home Minister of Gujarat for the security and peace of the state, he said that Gujarat is the only state which has intensified the campaign against narcotics and stopped the drug business by seizing drugs worth lakhs of rupees. Gujarat is the state that seizes the most narcotics drugs in the entire country.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel further said that the development of Gujarat and the upliftment of the people in a period of 20 years is unparalleled. In these 20 years, Gujarat has succeeded in creating milestones, made immense achievements, developed incessantly, and the government has earned the unwavering trust of the people.He added that these 20 years of Gujarat have been about priority, policy and performance. Gujarat government has always given priority to public welfare and development works, making Gujarat a policy driven state, Gujarat has ranked first in many indices at national and international level.
The Chief Minister said that the last two decades of Gujarat have been devoted to advancement, empowerment and development. The government has empowered women, children, students, farmers, poor, underprivileged and tribals by giving them the basis of development. He added that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has provided outstanding leadership to the country during the corona epidemic, conducted the world’s largest free vaccination campaign, arranged food-ration for the poor and kept the economy moving.
The Chief Minister said that his team has been working continuously to take the development journey of Gujarat forward at a faster pace since he got the responsibility as the carrier of development journey of Gujarat after former Chief Minister Smt. Anandi Patel, former Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani which was originally started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
In this regard, he said that this year, the government has spent a budget of Rs.2.44 lakh crore. Increase of 42 percent in the financial provision for women’s upliftment and related schemes. The Chief Minister Matrushakti Yojana has been implemented to take complete care of the health of the pregnant mother and child for 1000 days.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has adopted a public interest approach to make the period of income proof 3 years, exemption from making affidavit from fixed services, and disability certificate and steps have been taken to extend the duration of the S.T bus pass for lifetime.The Chief Minister has announced the promotion of natural farming in the state, irrigation water from canals in interior areas, Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Electronic FIR and gave information about the success of facilities, schemes and development projects. He further said that the government is going to build 500 new mobile towers in the tribal areas in two years, the government has also distributed bamboo to provide livelihood to the tribals. Free uniforms are being provided to students in these areas and the Ph.D. scholarship for tribal students has been increased to Rs. 1 lakh.
On this occasion, Chief Minister said that in 20 years, the production of cereal crops in the state has increased from 23.48 lakh metric tons to 83.25 lakh metric tons, the production of horticultural crops has increased from 62.01 lakh metric tons to 250.52 lakh metric tons, the number of check dams increased from 3500 to 1.65 lakh, the number of micros, small and medium enterprises has increased from 2.74 lakh to 8.66 lakh and industrial output has increased from 1.27 lakh crore to 16.19 lakh crore.
Chief Minister expressed that the work culture of public service and good governance has developed in the state without any suspicion of authority, he also expressed the belief that the government will continue to receive the cooperation and blessings of the citizens of Gujarat to continue the journey of development with faith.
State Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar welcomed the dignitaries and said that development and faith have become synonymous in Gujarat. In 20 years, Gujarat has achieved in all fields. The development journey started by the then Chief Minister of the state and now Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi has become a model for the country today. Also, Gujarat has become the growth engine of the country’s development.
Due to the unremitting efforts of Team Gujarat, the state has received the first position in the country in Good Governance in 2021. Along with this, Gujarat has achieved the first position in the health sector in the country by significantly contributing towards the social sector. In the field of education, the State’s Vidya Samiksha Center has become the inspiration of the country today.
