The Consulate General of India, Vancouver, celebrated National Youth Day-2022 and the 159th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on 12th January 2022 by organizing a Virtual Conference on the theme “The Role of Diaspora Youth in Innovation and New Technology”. The event was presided and moderated by the Consul General of India Mr. Manish.
- The event was kickstarted by the address of Swami Vimohananda, Head of Vivekananda Vedanta Society of British Columbia, who highlighted the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda and dwelled upon the importance of having a greater aim in our life. The second part of the Virtual Conference was in the form of a panel discussion between young Diaspora achievers comprising of Mr. Devesh Bhardwaj CEO Pani Energy, Victoria; Mr. Akshya Mohrana, Business Development Specialist (South Asia & Middle East), Powertech Lab Inc., Vancouver; Mr. Ranjith Narayanan Swamy, CEO, Yagen Robotics, Regina; Mr. Manoj Singh, CEO, Acuva Tech, Burnaby; and Mr. Gurminder Minhas, Managing Director, Bio Filaments, Vancouver.
- Each panelist highlighted their journey from India to Canada and their contribution in bridging the gap between the two countries by providing technological solutions in sectors like water, hydrogen storage, energy, robotics & automation, and sustainable development.
