High Commission of India in Lilongwe observes Swachh Bharat Pakhwada

As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, High Commission organized Swachhata Pakhwada from 1 to 15 January 2022. The following activities were undertaken during Swachhata Pakhwada

1 Screening of Documentary on Swachha Bharat Mission A documentary "Swachha Bharat - India's Sanitation Revolution" was displayed in the Chancery premises on 6 January 2022. Local and Indian communities attended the event.
2. Cleaning Drive at the High Commission of India A cleaning drive was organized at the High Commission on 7 January 2022. Indian and Malawian staff participated in the drive and were also encouraged to keep their surroundings neat and clean to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 infection.  
3. Donation of necessary supplies related to hygiene and sanitation to local primary schools High Commission of India on 13 January 2022 donated hygiene, sanitation, and Covid related materials, including face masks, hand wash, dustbins, etc., to Chilambula Lea School, Area 5, Lilongwe and Mbizi Primary School, Area 3, Lilongwe to assist their efforts to contain the spread of covid-19.
4. Online Quiz on Swachh Bharat To spread awareness on cleanliness among the Indian diaspora and local community, an online quiz on Swachh Bharat was organized on 15 January 2022. Persons from both communities took part in the Quiz. The communities appreciated the activities undertaken by the High  Commission.
5. Display of hygiene and sanitation-related messages  To spread awareness on the importance of hygiene and sanitation, High Commission displayed Swachhata related messages in the chancery premises from 1-15 January 2022. The whole Pakhwada (Fortnight) was also dedicated to Mission's social media handles for wider reach of the messages to the general public.
