Food Festival of India held in Nepal

As part of celebrations of the special week under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Consulate General of India in Birgunj  organized "Indian Food Festival" on 30 December 2021 in the premises of the Consulate. The Food Festival was inaugurated by Consul General Nitesh Kumar. Leading hotels and restaurants of Parsa and Bara viz., Hotel Ichchha and Classic Plaza of  Simara; Clarks Resort, Vishuwa, Diyalo Lords Plaza, Delight Go, Pure Cake, and Bhukkad of Birgunj set up their stalls and served various components of Indian cuisine in the festival. Children of local schools  Gyanda Academy, DAV, and DPS participated in the cultural program organized during the festival. Local people from all walks of society participated in the festival.

The Indian Food Festival was aimed at showcasing the variety and range of Indian food and its promotion in Nepal. Indian Cuisine is a great cultural connection between the people of India and Nepal.
