As part of celebrations of the special week under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Consulate General of India organized a "Bicycle Rally" on 25 December 2021 in Birgunj. Consul General Nitesh Kumar flagged off the rally at 0700 hours. Around 60 people comprising the members of the Consulate, local people's representatives, officials of District administration of Parsa, Nepal Police, Nepal SBI Bank, local industries and business houses, cycling club of Birgunj and Bara, and Civil Society at large participated in the rally.
The rally started from the consulate and followed a route of sixteen kilometers passing through the main gate of Integrated Check Post on the Indo-Nepal border, Ghantaghar, and Adarsh Nagar in the City and culminated at the consulate again.
Apart from emphasizing physical fitness, building endurance, and promoting good health among the participants, the rally aimed at enthusing bonhomie among the people of India and Nepal and strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
