The district administration has paid homage to Smt. Savitribai Phule on her 191st birth anniversary SPSR Nellore District, AP.
On the occasion of the 191st birth anniversary of a social reformer and feminist icon Savitribai Phule, the Collector and District Magistrate, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District, A.P., Sri K.V.N.Chakradhar Babu, I.A.S., has paid homage to her on 03.01.2022 at Zilla Parishad High School, Dargamitta, Nellore.
The District Magistrate has addressed the gathering of women teachers and informed that she was the first female teacher of the Nation. She worked for facilitating women’s education. She fought for the abolishment of discrimination against people of a different gender. She has agitated against castism. She was the voice of feminism and was stood up for the rights of women and their education. She shall be etched in our hearts forever, as we continue to live our lives. The District Magistrate has reiterated the famous poem “Go Get Education’ by Savitribai Phule, where she encouraged oppressed classes to get women's education.
Finally, the Collector and District Magistrate, SPSR Nellore district concluded the program and greeted the teachers as well as students to develop on par with the ideas of Smt. Savithri Bai Phule. Joint Collector and District Educational Officer also participated in the program and paid homage to Smt. Savithri Bai Phule. The program ended with National Anthem.
