Hon'ble Health Minister of Meghalaya, Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh inaugurated the two-day 'Eat Right Millets Mela' event (March 28th-29th) at Malki Ground, Shillong organized by the FSSAI Eastern Region & the Commissionerate of Food Safety Meghalaya. To kickstart the event a Walkathon was also organized to raise awareness on the health benefits of millet. Various activities like Cooking Competition, Quiz, Extempore speech & Slogan writing related to millets were conducted & prizes were distributed to the winners on Day 1.
The 'Eat Right Millets Mela' event was well-attended, with the participation of 5000 people from all walks of life. The event aimed to promote millets and their health benefits, as well as showcase their versatility in recipes and cuisines. By organizing various activities, the event aimed to create awareness about the benefits of incorporating millet into one's daily diet. Overall, the event was a huge success in raising awareness about the importance of millet in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
