Eat Right Millets Mela was organized at Shri Padma Sachdeva Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on 8th April '23 by the Food and Drugs Administration of Jammu and Kashmir to raise awareness about millets and their health benefits and to showcase India’s diversity in millets production, recipes, cuisines, and value-added products. The Mela witnessed a demonstration of various types of millets and millet-based recipes through various stalls. Various events like the cooking contest, poster-making contest, slogan writing, and quiz cultural programs were organized to raise mass awareness around millets among people of all age groups.
A walkathon was also flagged off the same day from Green belt road to Govt College for women Gandhi Nagar
to spread awareness about millets and their benefits. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 1500 people and was attended by students, NCC cadets, teachers, officials & locals.
