On April 13, 2023, and Eat Right Mela and Walkathon were conducted in Satara District, Maharashtra, India. The event witnessed the participation of over 1,500 enthusiastic individuals who were keen on promoting healthy living and raising awareness about the importance of a balanced diet and regular exercise.
One of the key activities was a panel discussion that featured nutritionists, dieticians, and food experts who shared their insights and knowledge about the nutritional value of millet and how it can be incorporated into a balanced diet. Other activities included drawing, poster making, and rangoli competitions that encouraged participants to showcase their creativity and depict the benefits of millets in a visually appealing manner. The quiz contest tested participants' knowledge of millets and their nutritional benefits, while the recipe contest provided an opportunity for participants to showcase their culinary skills by preparing delicious and healthy millet-based dishes.
The event aimed to promote the consumption of millet as a healthy and nutritious food option and raise awareness about its benefits for the overall well-being of individuals and the community. Padma Shri awardee Rahibai Popare, popularly known as 'Seed Mother', also graced the programme, along with district SP and other dignitaries.
