Nadi Utsav was organized with the goal of emphasizing the crucial need to conserve India's rivers, which are currently under threat from a variety of factors including pollution, encroachment, and the impacts of climate change. The festival aimed to encourage community involvement in river conservation initiatives and inspire individuals to take steps towards safeguarding these invaluable resources. By raising awareness about the significance of rivers and promoting local engagement in conservation efforts, Nadi Utsav aimed to help ensure a sustainable future for these vital natural resources under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. National Water Mission with Rotary India Water Conservation Trust hosted the event.
The event was held on 29th March 2023 at Ektali Ghat in the Joshipur block of Mayurbhanj district Odisha, guests included Mr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, ex-District Council member, Mrs. Minati Patra, as well as MP Representative Mr. Pradeep Mohanty, Rtn. Rakesh President Rotary Club of Baripada. Their presence added to the significance of the event and highlighted the importance of river conservation in the Mayurbhanj district and beyond.
