Krishnendu Dutta was born in 1908 in Palsunda village, located under the Tehatta police station in Nadia district. His father was Shri Tarapada Dutta. From a young age, Krishnendu was deeply troubled by the subjugation of his country. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's ideals, he became actively involved in the freedom movement.
In 1930, following Mahatma Gandhi's call for the Civil Disobedience Movement, Krishnendu joined the cause of the nation. In November of that year, he was arrested along with Bijaylal Chattopadhyay at Meherpur's Tentultala ground for violating Section 144. The Meherpur court sentenced him to three months in prison.
In March 1933, Krishnendu was arrested again in the Haulia village, Tehatta police station, and sentenced to five weeks in prison by the Meherpur court. On 13 April 1933, he was arrested alongside Nadia political leader Haripada Chattopadhyay, Narayan Sarkar, and five other women at the Nadia District Congress session in Bara Andulia village. The Krishnanagar court sentenced him to six months in prison. After his release, Krishnendu continued to engage in various movements.
