Kanhaiya-Lal-Sethia

Shri Kanhaiya Lal Sethia, son of Chhaganmal Ji Sethia, was born at Sujangarh, Churu. His father headed to Calcutta for trade. At the age of 11 years, he also headed for Calcutta along with his father and resided there for many years. He was deeply impressed with the speeches of Gandhi ji at the Congress Session of 1936. At the time of Japanese bombardment, he came back to his village Sujangarh. In 1942, he participated in the Quit India Movement.  In 1942, he also wrote a compilation of songs. In the year 1943, he was prosecuted with the charge of sedition along with a number of allegations but he remained unmoved towards his resolve. Kanhaiya Lal made Sujangarh, Churu, as the centrestage of his political activities. He composed a number of poems and enthusiastic songs for the freedom fighters.
