Satya Ranjan Bose was born in 1889. His father’s name was Sonakanta Bose. He was arrested in connection with Shibpur (Nadia) action on 30 September 1915. While he was studying Bachelor of Liberal Arts in a local college he joined Anushilan Samiti. Satya Ranjan Bose was charged of sedition and in the judgement pronounced by the Trial Court on 16 February 1916 sentenced to him life term. He was deported to the Andamans. After a period of five years he was repatriated in 1921 and got released in 1925/26. The boat used by the revolutionaries in this action was kept as a memento at the Krishnanagar Court Compound.
