Shri Amar Krishna Vyas, at the age of 16 years, became a member of the Marwar Lok Parishad (Marwar People's Council). He used to make arrangements for the congregation of the Council, and would ensure the safety of the articles and other Council things during the lathi charge done by the colonial authorities. He was jailed during the Quit India Movement in the year 1942. He revolted when the police authority beat the wife of Nathuji Bhati, Smt. Savitri Bhati. He also joined efforts for the upliftment of harijans and the temple entry movements. He was the General Secretary of Marwar Mehtar Employees Union. He was Editor of the monthly magazines Sipahi Sandesh and tam-tam (for kids), and also of Lohiya Samvad. He undertook multiple efforts in order to provide facilities to women who were put behind the bars by the colonial authorities.
